Jose, the band's founder and primary songwriter began writing/collecting
short poems back in High School. Most of these poems were paradoxical in
nature, hence the band's name. He was a semi-finalist in the National
Library of Poetry's poetry contest and his poem of "One Moonlit Night" was
published in their 1994 "A Moment in Time" poetry collection book. His
background in music goes back to Jr. High School where he played Trumpet
through High School in Concert/Jazz/Marching Band, and participated with the
Pasadena City College band during the 1991 Tournament of Roses Parade. He
started his rock musical career in 1992, seriously pursuing it in 1996. His
influences include Doors, Pink Floyd, U2, and many others. He plays a Gibson
Les Paul Studio and a Charvel 6250 acoustic/electric guitars via a Carvin
